Joyous Nature Photo Walks at Japanese Garden
with Joy, March 20, May 1, 2016
RSVP
(More private Photo Walks scheduled.)

Enjoy the 6.5 acre oasis: lake, streams, herons, egrets, ducks, coots, koi, flowers, blossoming trees, bridges, waterfall, stone lanterns, pathways, and symbolic tea room.

Cherry, plum, magnolia, willow and bamboo trees, and flowers: azaleas, camellias, wisteria, Indian hawthorn, clivia, iris, lotus, etc.

"Garden is authentic in every detail [and filled with symbolism]. The basic style of the garden is known as Chisen-Kaiyushiki, or “wet garden with promenade”, and is fashioned after those strolling gardens which were built during the 18th and 19th centuries for Japanese feudal lords on their vast estates.”  -The Japanese Garden

Kanso means simplicity. Meditate, contemplate, enjoy.

  1. Absolutely GORGEOUS. The camellia photos are heartbreaking, as are the cherry Blossoms. I knew that Complex, it was great to "visit" it. Made me miss L.A. Sent to me by Carol Blatter.
Thinking of you, Renee (Tucson for 7 years...)

  2. PERFECT PLACE FOR YOUR PHOTO SHOOTS…
LOVED THE STEPPING STONES AND THE LANTERNS AND
EVERYTHING ELSE…WAY, WAY BEYOND ANY DESCRIPTION OF
    BEAUTY...

  3. I think the open gate at the beginning makes such a powerful statement of invitation.

Besides all your flowers and waterfowl and creatures that breathe, you have a lot of pathways and bridges and waterways…things that lead further into somewhere…things that entice and invite.

    The cherry blossoms are lush!
